The Museum is here to serve the people of the Northern Neck and visitors who want to know more about the heritage of agriculture in the region. The Northern Neck Farm Museum will show visitors the story of the Northern Neck farmer and engage them in understanding the many contributions that the unique lifestyle of agriculture as a natural resource based industry has contributed to the nation. From the Indians who roamed the lands to the large commercial canneries that once lined the Northern Neck shores, visitors will be able to learn about agriculture and view the tools that assisted the farmers and learn how these industries impacted the people of this region. Community gardens that provide land and resources to teach the young about the magic of growing food and fiber will be a part of the activities hosted at the site. The museum is planned to be a gathering place to share ideas about the past as well as to host meetings for farmers to stay abreast of technology today.
